Plus Size on the Bottom + Straight Size on Top

Shew, it’s been a hot minute since I last posted 😱 but I thought what better way to come back then to talk about my fashion problems – i. e. My big butt, hips, and thighs mixed with my smaller top half. I’m a 16 on the bottom and a size L on top, which means sometimes straight size pants don’t go up big enough and some plus size tops are just cut too full.

I tend to shop around and find things that work for me, usually shopping at Lane Bryant for jeans and places like Kohls and J. Crew for tops and dresses.

I also like to balance myself out by wearing skinny jeans with a more fitted tank and some type of kimono, chambray shirt, and jacket over top.

My jeans are from Wit & Wisdom, tank is from Gap, and the kimono is from Alice Blue for Stitch Fix. Shoes are from Just Fab.

Sale Rack Chic

Who doesn’t love scoring gorgeous clothes for less?

Nobody?

That’s what I thought.

I picked up this dress at Cato’s today on one of th sale racks and for only $17.99! I couldn’t believe my luck!

I know that sometimes shifting through racks and racks of clothes can be tedious, but if you’re willing to put in the time you’ll be rewarded with awesome finds!

Athleisure Style

Can any trend be better than making legging fashionable?

I took a pair of yoga capris, added a bright pink ribbed tank and leather jacket to give this look an edge.

And yes, it’s functional as well as fun! ✌🏻

Weekday Casual

Dressing during the week (when not at work) can be hard!

Do I wear yoga pants? A dress? Jeans?

I feel like this light wash jean, striped short sleeve sweater combo is the perfect mix of effortless and effort.

Plus, the leather Dooney and Bourke purse adds a little something.

A Few Things Old and Something New

Ah, the rare occasion when I actually head out of town to enjoy being a woman in my late 20’s.

I chose a pair of skinny jeans, cuffed, a white shirt from Wild Fox with a key printed on it, and a chambray shirt with the sleeves rolled.

I also took my chances with a pair of wedges, and they made me a good 5’10 😱 Fancy shoes are a great way to give a basic outfit a little more something something.

The only thing new about this outfit are the jeans – and they were acquired about a month ago. I’m a big believer in utilizing what I already have in my closet; sometimes that’s where your best outfits are!

Rainy Spring Wear

I’ve always struggled with fashion in the Spring season.

Do I wear a jacket? Long sleeves? A tank top?

Lately it’s been incredibly rainy, so I’ve opted for a polka dot rain jacket in my favorite clothing color (Navy Blue!) and a simple pair of skinny jeans with a fun white top.

The jacket and top match, only the jacket has a navy blue base and the top has a white base.

For shoes I chose a pair of Sperry’s because, well, they go with most everything.
